7/3/2004 - HOW WE SPENT OUR SUMMER VACATION

The year keeps growing brighter and brighter for teen sensations DAY OF INFAMY (www.dayofinfamymusic.com) as major changes and successes loom ahead for the hard rocking quartet. Summer break arrived for the young men (singer Jeremy Morris, 19, guitarist Michael van den Berg 15, rhythm guitarist Jeff McMahan 15, drummer King van den Berg 11), making the time just right for a seasonal tour in select cities across the country, playing by demand for their legion of dedicated fans.

The U.S. and Canada have come to know the rollicking sounds of this band quite well thanks to their debut single “Red Autumn” being added to over 100 CMJ reporting stations. DAY OF INFAMY fans and devotees have inundated the group with requests for live concerts, prompting immediate response by announcing shows on both American coasts and in the mid-west.

First up was a triumphant return to Los Angeles for two dates at The Whisky June 18th and 19th and The Gig June 26th. Playing to a packed crowd of screaming supporters at The Whisky this past March, DAY OF INFAMY became the first unsigned band in Whisky history to play two consecutive engagements at the famed spot where enigmas like Jim Morrison once graced the stage. In between gigs the band will keep busy rocking the Battle of the Bands at San Francisco’s The Pound on June 23rd.

Yet the most exciting parts of summer 2004 were yet to come. DAY OF INFAMY buckled down in New York City for the month of July to record their first full-length album with seasoned producer Steven Haigler (Fuel, Helmet, Simple Plan) and look to book some local shows in the Big Apple soon to preview new material for East Coast fans. The rest of the summer held further celebrations as DAY OF INFAMY headline the hard rock summer staple Vans Warped Tour local stage in their hometown Orlando, FL on July 29th. Sharing the stage with peers such as Good Charlotte, Simple Plan and Yellowcard, DAY OF INFAMY are certain to give fans a treat. Then in August, the band goes to Lafayette, IN for two shows at the Long Center.

Be sure to keep your eyes open for DAY OF INFAMY, as their progression into the limelight grows stronger.
