4/10/2004 - WHAT DO KIDS REALLY THINK? TEEN ROCKERS DAY OF INFAMY TELL YOU STRAIGHT UP

Hot on the heels of torrid performances in New York City and at LA’s famed Whisky, rock band DAY OF INFAMY prepare to release a video for their first single, “Red Autumn”. Originally premiering at their first showcase at SIR Studios in New York, “Red Autumn” depicts the horrors caused by the cycle of abuse passed on from generation to generation.

Like Good Charlotte before them, DAY OF INFAMY (singer Jeremy Morris, 19, guitarist Michael van den Berg 15, rhythm guitarist Jeff McMahan 15, drummer King van den Berg 11) aim to reach out to their peers and fans through powerful lyrics, music and imagery. With words in the refrain of “Red Autumn” such as, “Fly, fly through the memories in your mind, break your calloused heart…don’t lose hope, don’t lose the fight, to the ones that have left you so empty inside,” DAY OF INFAMY aim straight for the hearts and minds of young people everywhere in dire straights with no place to turn.

Explains Jeremy, “I have heard stories and done my best to help people through their own abuse. The career I have chosen gives me the ability to reach out and help make a change. If in my time on this earth I have positively affected someone’s life, I will have reached self-actualization. If it’s in my power, then I want to make a change.”

Helping DAY OF INFAMY on their journey is video producer Chuck Fishbein of Crazy Duck Productions. With experience under his belt such as directing ska-legends The Toasters, Mickey Hart of Greatful Dead fame and pop sensation Norah Jones, Fishbein brought his expertise to create a hard-hitting visual work befitting the piece. Of this project Fishbein states, “ DAY OF INFAMY have a tremendous amount of potential. They have their own point of view and they rock! They’re helping to bring back rock n’ roll.”

Though DAY OF INFAMY’s median age is 15, they express emotions and an overall sense of maturity (both musically and otherwise) well beyond their young years. Look out for the “Red Autumn” video, (currently available for viewing on www.dayofinfamymusic.com), and single, presently airing on radio stations nationwide.
