5/12/2004 - DAY OF INFAMY GAINING GROUND ACROSS THE COUNTRY; DEBUT SINGLE “RED AUTUMN” BLAZING AT RADIO
“Red Autumn,” the first single from new teen rock sensations DAY OF INFAMY, has been added to over 100 CMJ-reporting radio stations across the U.S. and Canada. Hot on the heels of two monstrous bi-coastal performances to mobs of excited fans in New York City and Los Angeles, the dynamic young men of DAY OF INFAMY are armed to take North America by storm with their hard-hitting true rock n’ roll flavor.
“We’re so excited to have people hear our music,” explains lead guitarist Michael van den Berg, 16. “The first time we heard out song on the radio, it was the greatest feeling! I can’t even explain how good it felt.”
Hailing from Orlando, FL, DAY OF INFAMY (singer Jeremy Morris, 19, rhythm guitarist Jeff McMahan 15, drummer King van den Berg 11, and his brother, guitarist Michael) strike a chord with peers and fans through their powerful lyrics, music and imagery. With the refrain “…don’t lose hope, don’t lose the fight, to the ones that have left you so empty inside,” “Red Autumn” tries to sooth and empathize with victims of physical and mental abuse.
Online Magazine 2Walls called DAY OF INFAMY: “…a group of kids that on any given day can kick Hanson's ass physically and musically…the heavy sounds of Day of Infamy are a welcome change in a world where all you need is to learn a few chords and throw a lid on backwards to call yourself a hard rock band… a summer US tour…will make this band a household name by Labor Day. These are all musicians, not just kids with stars in their eyes.”
Music Directors across North America are starting to take notice of DAY OF INFAMY’s undeniable talent, despite the band’s young age. Lest you think touting their adolescence is simply a gimmick, witness the awesome sight of 11-year-old King masterfully pounding the drums; listen to the music itself which stands alone as superior to the competition. Utilizing nothing more than hard rock edge coupled with youthful energy and determination, DAY OF INFAMY are poised to turn the world upon its ear and force it to listen.
This summer, DAY OF INFAMY will tour the west coast and Midwest through July, offering many opportunities to quench fans’ thirst for live appearances. Thereafter, the band plans to set up shop in New York City to record their first full-length album. Keep your ears open to hear “Red Autumn” on your local radio stations; a video of the song has been completed and can be viewed on line at www.dayofinfamymusic.com.
